The topic we have chosen is the extinction of species. It reminded me of a news story that I saw before, regarding the disappearance of Australia’s endemic species, the “Tasmanian Tiger”. The continent of Australia has species that is unique to the land. One of the reasons why there are so many unique land species in Australia is due to the separation of Australia from other continents. This caused the species to not be able to cross on to other continents, thus making Australia the sole possible habitat for them. Thus, making the protection of the species even more important in Australia. Preventing the extinction of species in Australia does not just affect the continent but also the rest of the world in order to preserve the diversity of species on earth. The study of Australian species has greatly contributed to the evolution of biology. With the help of the teacher, we have also made some changes to the plan. We originally hoped that social surveys will show people’s lack of knowledge about species, because we found that species disappeared in addition to environmental damage and natural accidents. For example, many families like to keep pets, however, if they were to release them back into the wild would cause an imbalance in the ecosystem. This is also the reason why the Australia’s customs strictly control the biological products. We maintain a satirical tone about how the show is presented, but we can add more emotional changes and gradual ways, such as the sudden darkening of the lights, the way the host enters, and the tone of speech. We also plan on including a voxpox and create an infographic video, because we found that there is a lot of data in the original text, such news will reduce the audience’s reading interest, what we need is to make the audience interested and to engage critical thinking. For species conservation, it should be the responsibility that everyone should give, regardless of the country’s territory and population.
