Netflix & Personalize
Online watching is replacing the broadcast TV step by step. It gets the advantages not only for the larger resources but also for the personalized use experience. Once I watched a few fabulous films on my friend’s Netflix, and experienced the personalized use which was really cool. For users, it provides a very convenient way to look for the video I like. For instance, it can easily examine the film genre that I watched most to recommend similar films. It’s also great that I can view some score lists, like 10 best films in 2016, 2016’s Oscar price films, and extra. Audiences can look for the rating and description of the film on Netflix to decide whether they want to watch it. Compared to the broadcast TV, I save my time to think about what I want to watch, and get the chance of watching a good movie accidentally. When I watch the broadcast TV, I feel like it is a provider and I am a receiver to choose the thing I like among these pre-existing stuffs. However, the personalise function creates the kind of feeling of intimacy and familiarity that the system is serving me. For the company itself, that is the way Netflix promotes their original tv series or other new films. They get the benefits and help part of their audiences at the same time like the lecture presented.
Most online video websites do the same thing with Netflix, such as YouTuBe, Iqiyi (a Chinese website) to get the data of every audience’s preference, and this data will be the final weapon to defeat the traditional TV system. For me, I prefer the online watching at present. I like to download things and watch them in my free time, and the subscribe system to allow me to follow my favourite bloggers. In all, it is the time of data and technology, so that might be the development way.
