Lecture
Definitely, collaborative working is an important topic in university study. It had brought some problems to me, for example, one of the group member couldn’t finish his/her part on time, he/she didn’t read the brief carefully, and etc. When I faced to these annoying problems, I thought about the meaning of group work sometimes. Once I called my parents in China and told them about the terrible situation of a group work, and they told me that everyone should learn how to work and communicate with others not only for studying but also for future working. Actually, the group working I did in the foundation study in RMIT brought lots of opportunities for me to make friends with foreigners classmates. I felt relaxed to talk with them in English and to know about some interesting stories about them. Overall, the happy experiences of collaborative working are far more than the annoying ones. As this lecture presented, the most significant thing is to set a goal before starting our work and distribute the works to every member so they could do for their own free time. Usually, I’m very active for the group to organise the meeting and communicate with each other; so my group assessments always finish earlier than those individual ones. Another point is that we should trust each other like Rachel said. It will so grateful that members could work together to solve the difficulties.
Reading
The way people approach the information is becoming more and more broad, as a result, the validity and the authenticity of the information is becoming doubting. This is a serious global problem. As people known, Google has already exited the Chinese market because of some government and politic problems. For me, I feel very confused and angry that it is a sign the country refuses some information to spread. For the domestic news industry in China, most breaking news were followed by unexpected turn. Some people do not trust the news, and some people start a rumour which makes the situation worse.
Internet is impossible to use the real-name system, and people are free to publish their words. However, I think we should take the responsibility for our words. There is no real ‘truth’, but all of us can devote to make the information more trusted
