Feedback for Project 3
At the beginning of this class, we were going to watch classmates’ edited interview video and give some comments to each other. However, just a few of us did the editing. I went to another table to watch some clips. After watching, i thought I should redo the actual interview part because the setting and background didn’t match the content of my interview. The background I filmed was a grey wall, and it seemed so empty. Also, the angle and lighting was kind strange. When I played my clips on the computer, I was not satisfied with them. My second project didn’t get a good mark and I really want to do this well, so I immidiately borrowed the sony camera for the following weekend. This time, I shoot this interview in my friend’s home, with a study desk as the background. I did a medium closeup to focus on the upper part of the body of my interviewer, and re-ranged the questions to fit the time. I think I will make it well this time.
Shooting practice – Non editing video
After the review for interview, we were planned to do a non-editing video. It meant all the plot should be completed by shooting on camera. We couldn’t use computer to do any editing. I was in a group with Riley, Kelly and Pat. We discussed the theme ‘pursuit’, and came up with the idea to trace around the school to find a place. This practice needed a lot of preparation work, as a result, we wrote down the plot, drew the general storyboard, planned the shooting place, and got start!
I was the photographer for our team. The most impressed scene was that I was shooting Riley ran up from the escalator, and it was hard to start from the right moment. The first time, she looked at the camera at the last second so we did it again. Finally, we completed the whole story!
I was quite happy to work with them, and I thought our video was good overall.
