Reflection – 12

This week I finished my craft making and started to shoot the project. The whole process is more difficult than what I expected at first. I planned to finish the shooting within two days however it actually took me five days. I was suggested to cut down my timeline in case it is too challenging. After trying,  I did not choose to cut down the timeline and decided to shoot exactly same as what I scripted at first in the pre production stage. It was a bit tricky for me which I met some problems that I did not expected. First, it is my first time of doing stop motion animation which I was unfamiliar with the whole process so that I had to figure out everything on my own step by step. Second, I did not have any equipment to do the shooting so I decided to stick my iPad onto a storage box. It was not easy to think of a way of doing the shooting because I sometimes need the camera to be closer to the items and make sure it is still clear enough. In this case, I chose to put another storage box under the iPad to be the table of putting those items which I needed them to be closer to the camera. Beside, the lighting is another problem. Even in the same condition, the lighting in my room could become a bit different which was totally uncontrollable. I had to change the scenes or just start from the beginning and reshoot the whole scene again. The whole process of shooting was challenging for me but I am glad that I did not give up and overcame all the problems! Even though the work is not perfect, I am satisfied with the final outcome.
