Media lecture – 7
This week’s lecture was cancelled due to Mr. Brian was being unwell, thus this blog is about initiative blog.
In Easter holiday, I went back to Nanjing in China, which is my home city, because of homesick. Although I have been in Australia for more than 1 year, I still always miss my family and friends. Most of my friends went to Canada for further study but they came back to Nanjing recently because of summer holiday, so did I. Each time I go home, there will must be something surprised me. This time is the widely spreading of reusable bicycle.
‘Reusable Bicycle’ means anyone could use the bicycle which has the sign of the business of ‘reusable bicycle’. More narrowly, there are several businesses come up with this idea, so they use different colors of bicycles to represent their own companies. For example, the yellow bicycle is owned by ‘OFO’; the orange bicycle is owned by ‘Mobike’. There are also have the green bicycle, the blue bicycle etc.
These bicycles are parking along the street, if people who want to use it, they need to download the app at first, such as Alipay or the app of the company that the bicycle belongs to. Then, scanning the QR code which is on the bicycle, the bicycle will be unlock. After use it, people just need to park it anywhere they want, even the entrance of the neighborhood. You do not worry about no park lot for the bicycle any more, because once you leave the bicycle at any place, someone who need the bicycle will scan the QR code and ride the bicycle again.
However, it is not for free, but much cheaper than bus, underground or taxi. For each companies, the price are different. For instance, ‘Mobike’ stipulates one RMB for half an hour; ‘OFO’ stipulates five cents for half an hour; another company stipulates three cents each 30 minutes.
Actually, I did not believe it when my dad told me this situation because it is so fresh and I never heard about this before. However, it is exactly a convenience method for people who are in a hurry. For example, if the person want to go to the place which bus and underground cannot arrive, they can use the reusable bicycle and do not need to worry about the park lot. It is not only very convenience, but also a way to exercise. We can ride the bicycle anytime we want because they can be found easily and can use it only with a phone.
