Post-it-note Game

In Week 5’s Friday studio, we were introduced to ‘The More-Than Research Game’. This games main objective is to help us rethink our approach to our research on our projects. It was created to provide people with an alternative way of thinking, design opportunities and research possibilities. In our project groups we were asked to write an example for each category on a post-it-note. In the next step, we randomly pick one note from each category and line them up to form a creative prompt. From the created prompt, we are required to brainstorm and interpret the prompt

CATEGORIES

Perspectives

Perspective cards provide you with a ‘point of view’ for your research ‐ the person, thing or organization your project will look from

Materials

Material cards describe the ‘format’ in which your research or data may be recorded, captured, or produced.

 Rhythms

Rhythm cards bring time to your prompt, and can be paired with any other card to add frequency.

Scales

Scale cards talk to the size or scope of some aspect of your research. You can pair a scale card with any other card to add focus to your prompt.

Subjects

Subject cards provide you with an topic of study ‐ where your project will look to.

“We passionately believe in the ability of research and design to open up possibilities – not just provide answers.”

I find that this method was really unique and beneficial as we came up with interesting ideas that we have never came across before.
