Making Group Dynamics Work

As a professional communication student, I find myself constantly working on various projects with people from different disciplines. In today’s workshop, we were introduced to the ‘funnel’ idea in making group dynamics work. There are four steps to it: The Explorer, The Artist, The Judge and The Warrior. Each step should only take about 15 minutes.

The Explorer: This step is about collecting information. It is required to constantly think about the ‘what if’ and ‘so’ while looking and seeking for ideas.

The Artist: This step is all about creatively blending the ideas and coming up with themes. Use your imagination.

The Judge: This step is all about unbiased, being objective and removing self while judging critically and realistically on the ideas and themes.

The Warrior: This step is about taking the decision by The Judge and completing it. Passion and motivation is essential at this point and also considering obstacles in the process of completion.
