This is the feedback from seth after sending him our refine prototypes from week 11 client presentation.
Looking at this video attached – I would aim to produce 3 short clips from this work as part of creating a campaign of several videos – all under the “one line” concept (this video is to long has too may separate ideas…)
- “What is home” does not work as a call to action and needs to change..
ideas: (Pete?)
Make an Australia home (Help make an Australia home)
Make Asylum Seekers feel at home
Help us make a home (lose “build” sounds like construction side of things)
Video 1 – (main call to action video) – case worker 1.15 – 2.28
Edit
screen 1 – (text) Help us make a home
screen 2 – (text) The not-for-profit asylum seeker project provides housing and case management support and is totally dependent on donations and grants.
screen 2 – case study iv (lose this synch “My name is Amanda Johnson”..) put in a text credit instead- Amanda Johnson, Case Worker. Asylum Seeker Project, United Care) – over words below
“The Asylum Seeker Project provides housing and case management support —dont have work rights study rights
– once has safe housing ….social support
– (move here from back end) “if people did understand the reality this is a person like you or me…survive (ending)
Notes: cut this tight, (lose sound gaps), lose repetitive movement on here on the couch looking off screen – tighten up go for impact – watch music mix, take to background let the iv dialogue dominate
Video 2
screen 1 – (text) Help us make a home
screen 2 – (text) Asylum Seekers arrive in Australia with very little possessions and are unable to work to earn money. A home is a starting point to creating a new life.
screen 3 – “When we have asked a few of our clients about housing
…” applying for work rights… (drop not-for profit part) —“When we asked what housing means to them
(images of donated food etc work) – but try to cut not on words – cut early for example
Notes: edit similar to video above in terms of sharp uct – you may need some more content on home what it means to them in this one?
Video 3
screen 1 – (text) Help us make a home
screen 2 – (text) Many of us take our homes for granted. Asylum Seekers arriving in Australia want a home just like you, a place that makes them feel secure and happy.
screen 3 –
Notes: come in on “its a place (to cut car audio out) – see the people who talk not just over images… come back to them – then go to images – generally I would favour lip synch so we see the people – some images of houses maybe
note – these house images can go to the posters
a poster example
Help us make a home
Help us make a home (heading); image – keys (look for a byline – “Asylum Seekers want the same security you have in your home”)
Help us make a home (heading); image, shoes at door etc (look for a byline – “Asylum Seekers want the same sense of family that you get in your home) etc…
Then this all comes together in a social media campaign around the byline – Help us make a home or could be pitched as next crowdfunding campaign using with maximum social media saturation to raise support and donations…
