The Murder Mystery 

I love mystery game as it makes you think and question everything. This interactive project caught my attention since the start of the presentation. Looking back to the draft made from the presentation and the final result, they made the results as expected or even better. Sadly, I didn’t get to play the game when the exhibition was held, although I saw people playing it, and it looked really interesting and fun. The game makes you think thoroughly, which is why I like it; instead of knowing it from the start, the mysterious storyline and confusion spice things up. It is not an easy game to come up with even though it is well-known, but surprisingly they did an outstanding job. Not only was the game out of the ordinary, but I loved how the team members of the Murder Mystery engaged with the audience too. It is important to note that building a fun atmosphere is needed for the audience to feel comfortable playing the game instead of having an awkward game. 

The Rise and Fall of the Codans

Another interactive project that grabbed my attention is “The Rise and Fall of the Codans”. This project is about aliens, which collides with my project, “Alienation”, but from a different perspective. Hence, seeing what it is all about grabs my attention. The idea of creating a museum space for an alien and building a sandbox and craft creation out of their art skills stood up. It is not an easy journey, but they pull it off well. Their project explanation is so detailed, and I understood it right away. The interactive part with the sandbox is also detailed, complex, and with the tiniest shove I have seen, as the mushroom craft is so unique. As a girl who loves museums, I find their museum walkway thoughtful, precisely explaining each picture. 

Other studio – Designing Drama

I was not interested in designing drama initially; thus, I am not a big fan of acting, rather like being behind the scenes. However, watching the end result of some of the student’s assignments or projects was entertaining. They all are given the same storyline, and it is more to the most superficial, focused detail that makes it better. I gasped when I saw how some students filmed with such a smooth angle and transition and their acting skills. 

I looked into their website, caved in and ended up bingeing the whole series. Two of my favourites are:

• Episode 5&6 – Linyushen
• Episode 2 – Jiabao Mo

These two series which were filmed and directed by Jiabao and LinyuShen, were beyond expected. With the short clip time, they used it and put in outstanding results. As said before, the simplest detail can change a lot, which applies to Jiabao’s episode 2 series. He added the red and blue lighting, which makes it look more cinematic and eye-catching. As for the Linyushen series, she combined both episodes into one video. Even though her filming technique is simple, I love how she can portray her expressions and tone that fit the storyline. I love her quality camera, too; it looks high-end, like how it is shown in movies or cinematic videos.
