After weeks of planning and hard work, we successfully finished and exhibited our project. The project’s main aim was to let the audience ( both international and non-international students ) know the struggle and story behind the international students and be able to relate to the story. Our slogan is “We are never alone” to let the audience who feels the same struggle understand. Not only that but hoping the audience can engage in our project and feel the struggle and emotions when reading the written stories.
Throughout the whole process of preparing for the exhibition was exhausting and overwhelming. I did not know if I could make it in time, but surprisingly, everything went as planned.
Seeing my drawings on a poster and inside the booklet makes me happy and proud of my work and brings excitement and satisfaction after putting sweat and tears into an all-nighter. Especially looking at the audience engaging in our project, scanning the QR code, taking pictures with the polaroids, reading the booklet, or even making the alien origami brings joy to our team members and me.
As stated before, when reflecting on assessment 4, I genuinely think it went well as expected. However, there is always room for improvement which I think is important to acknowledge for future projects. I believe time management is essential, and not do things at the last minute because it will be overwhelming. Other improvements that can go differently are meeting and doing work outside of class instead of communicating through social media to hinder miscommunication or misunderstanding.
Overall, it was a fun and exciting project. Definitely nothing like this before, and it was a memory to look back on and be proud of it. Nevertheless, I hope that the Alienation project can bring an eye-opening experience for the audience and relate to the main character.
