During the second last week, I just continued my work and what I had to accomplish for the exhibition. This week is when everything gets overwhelming for me. I stressed everything real quick because I faced so much trial and error. As this project conveys and portrays stories of daily life as an international student, I decided to make the aliens look cute instead of scary. My original plan was to make a storyboard for the stories, but I ended up putting one to two pictures that describe the stories because it was too hard for me. That decision of not making it look like a storyboard eases my burden.
As our aim is to attract the audience to engage in this project, I chose a mix of pastel and dark colors for the drawings because it suits the theme of cute and aesthetics. Also, to grab the audience’s attention when reading the booklet. The book “The Role of Imperfection in Consumer Aesthetics” quoted “, The combination of these two strands of perfectionist aesthetic regarding consumer goods results in increased production and their disposable (Saito,2022, pg 206). This shows how aesthetics is important in engaging and increasing a certain product.
