In week 11, we compiled ideas of the storyline to put out and how we wanted the diary and website to be perceived. We divided our jobs individually, and I got the part where I had to draw the storyline and aliens. With little to no knowledge of drawing, I decided to watch some youtube videos about “how to draw in procreate as beginners”. It was indeed a time-consuming and challenging job task to do, but I was thrilled to grasp more information as the group decided to make the drawing cartoonish; that was the goal of my drawing.

I had to draw quite a lot of drawings and did much research regarding how I wanted the drawing to be visualised. As AI has progressively increased and is well known in today’s society and media, I had the time to think, “What if I let the AI draw some of my storylines?” since drawing by hand takes so much time. It has been on my mind for quite some time, but I decided to let it aside because though asking the help of AI to draw is still considered art, having to do it your own defines art differently. Not only that, I do not want to let the “new media” of AI control and miss the whole idea of trusting the process, which is now shifting as the “old media”. Thus, it is true that having the “new media” is convenient, but the “old media” gives out more meaning to it (Simone, 2016; p587). As time flew by and it was the end of week 11, I realised that I was making progress that I was pretty proud of. As shown in the picture below, the alien named “Rae” is our main character.
