exploration of exposure

exploration of exposure

In Monday’s class we showed our footages to class and got a comment of our footages were all under exposed, we should use more light while we were shooting, so I started to considering how to adjust the right exposure.

I am using my Canon 600D to practice the exposure, however my camera can’t do manually adjust when I use video mode so I practice the exposure in form of taking photos.

This set of photos are presenting the different exposure in different ISO. The high ISO will give a noisy effect to the picture, however it will be more obvious when the colour is dark. And this noisy effect which brings by high ISO can be used to present a retro feeling. So when to adjust exposure by adjusting ISO one thing I should be careful is the noise.

This set of photos are presenting the different exposure in different shutter speed, and I think it’s the most frequent way to adjust exposure. To maintain the ISO and aperture, the higher shutter means higher exposure. Moreover the high shutter speed will easily recored the light’s movement, however it’s necessary to use tripod to avoid shaking.

This set of photos are presenting the different exposure in different aperture. The aperture affects how clear you want for your footage. When you want a super clear effect, you need to raise up your aperture, however it will be darker while you increasing it.

To sum up, I actually never manually change the settings while shooting, I guess the way of exposure adjustment will be different somehow in shooting videos, however I think it may be about the same thing withe the aperture and ISO, so maybe in my future work I will be more aware about to adjust those stuffs.
