transition practice

transition practice

I learned a transition tutorial on a video site in China, which can make the link of the video more smooth and natural. I did a simple practice for this tutorial, maybe the effect is not so obvious but I believe that I can present it better in future work.

This one is using the normal and the most commonly used method to connect two shots, which is just put them together in the previous order. Since the two shots are shot in different locations, the background sounds are different as well, so when watch the video you might feel a little bit incoherent.

Then according to the tutorial, I inserted the background sound of the second scene into the first scene in advance, when the scene changes, both the sound and the scene is changed naturally and fluently.

Lastly, in the tutorial it recommends to add the ‘strong’ background sound effect like the shutter sound, bird sound and dog’s barking, which you can choose it according to the different scenes. In my practice video, I chose to add the tram’s ringing when the transition happens, and I can see the transition is more natural and smooth.
