GERMANY, Wolfsburg. 2018.
I’m always attracted and inspired by the colourful things. This photograph shows a little boy feeling hesitant to enter to the pool, the colours appearing in the photo are the three primary colours: red, yellow and blue, and the blue colour as the main tone gives the whole photo a cool feeling which just like the pool. Moreover the yellow tone filter even softer the photograph, decrease the blue tone’s sadness and gloomy feeling, then gives photograph a positive feeling. However the behind story of this little boy on the photograph is full of sadness — the boy is a refugee from Iraq, the pool reminds him of the boat and refugees on the sea (Diana, 2019) . Thus there are many ways to embody a story. As a film maker or a photographer, you need to find the most suitable or your own way to present it. For this photograph, the most uniqueness of this photograph is the photographer showing a sad story in a warm and positive way but still touch my heart.
After reviewing the good photo works, during the weekend I also practiced with my Cannon 600D, it’s literally my first time to understand the shutter speed and depth of field. For the shutter speed is basically the time you let the light comes in your camera, the longer time you let light in, the more movements you can see in your photo. For depth of field can be basically understand how much focus you wanna show in your photo. So I shoot 3 photos in different shutter speed and depth of field.
