Future Machina: Week Eleven Blog

This week (and weekend) Jess and I spent time shooting our final assignment. We ventured into the CBD on the lookout for locations and subjects that we felt represent the negative aspects of the Anthropocene epoch. These were things like concrete towers, alleyways with overflowing rubbish bins and industrial rail yards. We spent Saturday in Cape Schanck shooting the natural scenes of our film. The landscape here is extremely dramatic and very breathtaking. I think we were able to capture both its beauty and power. We were even able to get a couple shots of a container ship out at sea which combine the two distinct segments of our film.

I really like the content we’ve shot this week. We made sure to shoot subjects from multiple perspectives so that we have everything we need when it comes to structuring the film which I’m looking forward to starting next week!
