The TV seminar was packed full of entertaining stories and experiences. Topping it off had to be the break initiated by the evacuation and fire alarm!
Hosted by David Delmenico, A Remote Journey focused on the key moments that opened up the careers of our guests: their big break, or their tipping point. Guests Stephen Corvini, Gareth Calvery and Stuart Page shared insight into the highlights (and lowlights) of their respective careers in Media. The overarching message, the theme and advice that seemed to flow from the three of them was centred around being a genuine, good person to gain the respect of others. On set, as an assistant, and when rubbing shoulders with bigwigs in the industry, for Stephen, Gareth and Stuart it was clear to them when they had fun working with people, and finding those people was key in making contacts and building networks that have allowed them to move into esteemed roles.
Guided by David, the audience was invited into the intimate setting of the lounge room where the guests spoke frankly and openly about their journeys in the industry – the difficulties they faced (such as working with lions and children in the same place, at the same time) and the highlights of their careers up till now. Despite feeling as if they can say they made it Gareth, Stephen and Stuart are still working to grow and develop their respective skillets and progress in the industry in different ways. They are finding ways to do what they enjoy the most and make a living from it.
