During this workshop we finally started to hone in our ideas for our final project! We began to create a clear structure to our film.We discussed how we would cover the main aspects of television as an institution (audiences, technology and censorship) and workshopped various abstract ways of representing these ideas.
Our structure
Part 1: Birth
This section will explore the beginnings of television. Its history, and its purpose.
Part 2: Stabilisation
It will explore the broadcast era and how television was produced by only a few major media broadcasters and intended for the typical nuclear family. This created a bias coverage. It will also explore how television was viewed at this stage in time.
Part 3: Mobility
Will explore television today. This will be our main focus and cover how television is now mobile. It will also cover how TV is not produced by just one main provider, but by many. Television as an institution has changed and now there are different ways of viewing and producing through he invention of the Internet. (web series, Netflix, Foxtel as well as the main providers of free to air TV such as network 10)
