Presentation and Feedback | Sacred Place

So today we presented our video and photos for assignment 3 and explored the reasons why we made certain choices and what we were aiming to achieve. There was some really good feedback, and from discussing it openly with people outside of our group it made me view things a bit differently then before. Some of the main points and notes from the feedback:

  • The idea of time. Possibly looking at the nocturnal and expanding across times of the day from dawn, day, dusk, and night.
  • Video framing could show a bit more dimension leaning away from wide angle shots
  • Contrast the sped up intersection to a super slow version
  • Images of the swing set and the chains – represent connection
  • Observing people on their own – public open space yet there is a common understanding that people like to use the space privately and on their own – considerate of each other’s space
  • Do people need to physically be in a space for it to be a community?

In regards to our pitch for assignment 4, we aren’t exactly sure what direction we want to go in and the question we want to explore. I think it will just be a matter of sitting down and reflecting on all the topics over the last 8 weeks and find a question we all want to look at.
