Deconstructing Federation Square Preproduction

This week I created a vague production schedule and a production logistics document. The logistics document was particularly helpful for me because I have been sick and cannot choose the days I feel well enough to create. It is important that on the days I film I don’t waste energy thinking about equipment I will use. I curated images from Pinterest to act as a storyboard when I need friends and family to film. I have already shot footage at my house because it has been easy to achieve. I want to shoot in a the suburbs but need to consider many suburbs around me because I don’t want to depict the suburbs as desolate. I want there to be greenery and lushness in all the shots in my final work.

I have a MIDI keyboard to record my reworked version of ‘Here comes the sun’. I plan to record this in the coming week as it is something I can do from home and is relatively quick because I have a background in music. I need to organise a day  to film in and around Fed Square—this is difficult because I have low energy but if I pace myself and take lots of breaks I will be able to film everything I want. Planning for fatigue and illness is not a part of preproduction I had considered until this semester. This is something I will have to continue to do in all work, media or not, from now on. It has been difficult to figure out the resources I need on my own—perhaps this is something I will ask about in the future.
