The colour grading in our documentary was fairly straightforward. We knew from the very beginning that we wanted to have the horror film contrast with the comedy film that we made, and by grading the two short films separately to the actual documentary footage we were able to establish a difference between the different clips in the narrative. The final horror film is in black and white, which is a distinctive quality of the genre. In comparison, we chose to make the comedy bright with lots of natural light and colours and the colour grade only served to saturate those colours more. The finished result is two contrastingly different short films, that each are unique in their colour scheme, and also can be differentiated from all the other Behind the Scenes footage that makes up the remainder of the documentary.
