I saw these guys last night. Turtle&Fox are a brother and sister duo that caught my attention.
F*** Angus & Julia.

I saw them at a live music night at the Empress Hotel, which I have posted about before. I had another great time, and got to see an old fave now, in Josh Cashman. I was so hungry for tunes that I forgot to eat anything, but I was very impressed with the $13.50 chicken parma I received. After we were full of good music (and food), we wandered home through Fitzroy and Carlton and admired the housing designs. We all agreed that an old Victorian house would be awesome to live in and that the garden must be overgrown and not too manicured. A manageable mess.

I can’t wait to live in a house again. Right now the only space that I call my own is a shoebox-size room that I swear is getting smaller. These are my living conditions for this year. It’s been fun, and I wouldn’t change it if I could do it all again, but I am keen for a backyard and potentially a hammock between two trees. But I think the most common of household chores is what excites me the most. I’m keen to do my washing. Yes, I actually want to wash my clothes. Hear that mum? I’m sick of paying $7 every damn time I need a clean shirt to wear. That’s why the prospect of my own washing machine excites me so much.
That will be freedom.
