It’s the final push this week and our timeline is on track! Trevor and Myself had booked a total of 3 sessions in the editing suite and discussed / showed our rough cuts and ideas. We had multiple edit options and really wanted to include an experiment with temporal duration and create a ‘jerky’ / ‘jarring’ yet captivating experience. We were able to eliminate unnecessary footage and play around with sounds and layouts of our final video. The juxtaposition and flow of all the footage works really well to create texture and stimulation, our key objective.
Revisiting our production dossier we ticked off boxes and ensured we fulfilled our main goals and objectives. Our work aimed to mimic a ‘dream state’ and looked into other people’s dreams. The goal for the users is to get out of this dream state and inbetween looking into other people’s dreams, they are offered questions which can give them a chance to escape. We were both really happy and proud of the final piece we created and feel as though it poetically justifies our imaginary world. Dream state and will spark curiosity and collaboration amongst our audience/ viewers.
We also devised a prop list and scoped out the prop room to plan out our space for the final exhibition. I have also bought the dream journal for our audience to write in.
