I have seen a lot of running scenes in many films, especially in action movie, when people chasing each other. For example, in Jackie Chan’s movie, he always run and does martial art and looks silly at the same time. But I never really film   any running scene before or think about how to film a running scene. Therefore the first part of my research will be investigating the technique of running scene filming. Such as the camera angle, the camera movement and camera coverage. I will watch a lot of behind the scene and also write blog about some specific scene.

The second part of the research is the function of running scene in different types of films. For example, compare the differences between the running scenes in Forest Gump and Run Lola Run. How do running scene work in different types of film. I watch many Japanese feature film; there are lots of long shot and running scene in those film, why they use it?

The last part is the most brief part of the research, equipment and practicing. I will try to shoot some shot of running scene, relate to the techniques I was analysis in part 1. On the other hand, I might do a brief research about equipment. I don’t think that equipment would be that important, cause people could always figure out a cheap way to film the shot.

So basically I just going to write about running scene in my blog this project. It is very interesting that i never really think about running scene in the movie. Running scene is like a side dish for a movie. It doesn’t have to have a running scene in most of the films, but without running, the story might seems quit boring.
