As we worked on our rough cut we were faced with a few problems. Our main problem was how the main interview was framed. Although it aesthetically looked great and the colours, exposure, and setting where perfect, the actual framing was completely wrong. Tristan had way too much headroom and was facing away from the negative space. This made the whole shot look strange and peculiar, which ultimately took away from the content of the documentary. The camera should have been positioned lower and the negative space should have been in the direction he was taking. eg. if Tristan was positioned on the right side of the camera he should be looking towards the left and there should be negative space on the left.

It basically looked like it was completely unusable which was very concerning as this was going to be our only interview. Luckily, we shot the whole thing in 4K. Because the shot had such high resolution we were able to zoom in and change the framing without compromising the quality of the shot at all. We have been very lucky!
