The Suspended Coffee Movement

Working with Lentara United Care has made me even more conscious of how sometimes a little thing can go a long way.

Any donation made towards Lentara helps to significantly improve the lives of seriously struggling people.

If every single person did a good deed every day, and expected nothing in return for it, I believe the world would be a much better place.

This made me think more about an idea I came across that I really loved. It is called the Suspended Coffee Movement. It is a simple notion but the small gesture really does go a long way in improving another person’s quality of life. Various Cafes have employed the concept and it simply involves buying two of your usual morning coffees, except that you only take one.

It is essentially donating a coffee to someone who would absolutely cherish one but cannot afford the luxury of a good quality latte on a daily basis. The opportunity for a hungry and homeless person to enjoy a steaming cup of coffee on a cold morning is something so little yet so valued.

At Suspended Coffees, we restore faith, by highlighting the simple acts of kindness happening all around us, and encouraging others to do the same.

The website for this positive and kind movement is:

Melbourne is a city that is unfortunately filled with many homeless men and women sleeping on the streets each night. I believe that about 90% of workers and residents of this city would grab a coffee each morning from their favorite café. All it could take is a few extra cold coins to help make someone’s day that little bit nicer.
