Developing our work

With the notion of keeping things moving along I thought it would be helpful and motivating to answer some of the questions Seth posted on his blog as a way of staying on track and keeping things moving.

In regards to the upcoming project briefs, Seth posted some questions he believes are valuable in relation to the development of our ideas and work:

What are you designing and producing?

For the upcoming brief I will be focusing on the production of a Lentara identity pamphlet which will essentially be a physical product that can be produced and distributed.

Who are you designing for?

We are creating and designing a pamphlet that will encapsulate an identity and understanding of Lentara in order for both public and corporate bodies to read for potential donations. It is also a way of spreading awareness of Lentara and creating a clear understanding of who they are and what they do.

Have you considered scale in regards to the timeframe of the semester and the resources you have at hand?

In terms of time and resources I believe we have adequate amounts of both in order to produce a quality product. We already have vast amounts of knowledge and information regarding the identity of Lentara as a consequence of constructing a creative brief for the organisation. We have also found quite a few attractive and appropriate pamphlet models which we believe would work well in grabbing people’s attention as well as communicating our information.

What stage are you at in relation to being either to narrow or to broad with your approach?

Our group is keeping an open mind and an open approach to project. At every discussion are continually exploring all of our options and weighing up the pros and cons of each. We have each chosen to focus on a different avenue of production for the presentation in order to see which one has the most potential for being powerful in attracting the attention of our audience and communicating Lentara’s message.

What are the strengths of your team or group? What skills are missing?

The advantage of collaborating media students with communication design students is that you are left with an array of various specialties and skills. Some of us can write, others are amazing at computer design, some can create amazing media forms, and the list goes on. I think the main skill missing from our group is organisation. This is something I know we will endeavour to work on for the production of the upcoming briefs.
