We got back our results from our essay, and whilst not thrilled I’m not totally disappointed either. I know my number 1 thing that I struggle with is essay’s so this was a good way for me to get feedback, practice and reflect on how I can improve. Ive always been told I understand the idea and have good themes but I don’t communicate it effectively and in detail enough.
Adrian recommended that as I struggled with the theory based method of an essay, I should trial using an experimental form but this does scare me slightly as I have no idea how I would begin to write one. However for our next essay I will take this into account and seek feedback and look at examples to try a more experimental style of essay. Im hoping to find my strengths and be able to portray it throughout an essay format that I can do well in.
Majority of the feedback was that I had good points but at times needed to further explain, use more evidence and explain why I put in a specific point and how its relevant. He often said I was nearly there but needed to push the idea further and really pull it apart. I will continue to work on this for my future essay writing.
