As the studio presentations hastily turn into a reality, it has become time for STeve to finalise the content produced over the course of the semester. Looking back on the footage, I can’t help but feel proud of what we have achieved.
In the presentation we will be playing four short clips of our mock shoots, as well as a one to two minute trailer for our chosen prototype, Keeping Mum – the mockumentary. I’m not quite sure if I have revealed this yet on my blog. Anyway, now I have! We chose mockumentary! You’ve probably got it now. Moving on swiftly…
Before I blab on about why we decided to go with mockumentary, make sure to check out our mock shoots!

While we were really happy with how all of the mock shoots turned out, we kept gravitating towards the mockumentary genre as it was most interesting for us to experiment with, opening up the possibility for a diverse range of original storylines, allowing us to have fun with our characters. Going with mock-doc also lead us to work predominantly off script, whereby as a group we would brainstorm a potential household scenario, press record and see where it took us. On screen, we felt our mock-doc footage presented to be most genuine and engaging to watch.
In my next blog post I’ll share the prototypical trailer we created for Keeping Mum, as well as explore the opportunities creating a mockumentary presented us with!
