This week my peers have been feeling extra pop culture-y. And I have been vibing off these feelings so here goes!
1. Laura Doguet – “HeForShe Campaign”
Laura embedded a video of Emma Watson’s impeccably perfect and ultimately viral speech recited the other day at a UN conference. I have never been much of a Harry Potter nut, much to the dismay of my peers, but I have always had a special spot in my heart for Emma. This speech is so on point, perfectly summarising my generation’s skewed views of feminism and human rights. Laura is particularly fond of the speech, and I agree. “What a woman!”
2. Michael Liberale – “The Simpsons Guy”
Michael blogs in anticipation for the Family Guy/Simpsons crossover episode, and his excitement is infectious. Although I’m more of a Family Guy kind of gal, (#noh8), I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love both shows. I can’t wait to see what they do with the episode, and what kind of mischief the crazy characters get up to. The crossover format takes me back to times of “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana” and “That’s so Suite Life of Hannah Montana”. Those were the days.
Michael also mentions “Bob’s Burgers” which is a personal favourite. It’s great when you find a show and truly identify with the characters. (P.S. I’m joking. Kinda.)
