MEET UP

Process:

When I was writing the script, I aimed to make it short, simplistic, and open to interpretation so that whoever directs the scene can have their own take on it. After finishing the script, I found three directors and a set of actors. The main purpose of this project for the directors was to see how different people would interpret the same scene. For the actors, I stuck with the same group to ensure that the directors’ styles were highlighted rather than being overshadowed by varying performances. It was also crucial to shoot the film in different locations within the university to alter the overall atmosphere and tone of the scene. After shooting, I moved on to editing. Except for Hamish’s version, I had to edit Kevin and Ewan’s scenes. To implement each director’s vision, I maintained constant contact with them, showing them my edited pieces, getting feedback, and adjusting the scenes accordingly. Regarding Hamish’s scene, we made a last-minute decision, the day before the due date, to change it from a scene with audio to a silent film style piece. This decision was due to the poor audio quality of the footage.
