This week was significant for me creatively as it provided a great opportunity to observe how various groups approached the idea of “uncomfortableness.” As it turns out, I was truly awe-inspired by every single one of them, each showcasing their unique style. Some delved deeply into uncomfortable filmmaking, and it was evident they were genuinely enjoying experimenting. Others placed a stronger focus on the story, but incorporated unfamiliar editing choices in a few scenes that made me a little anxious while watching. The most significant takeaway for us was that we should never be afraid to push boundaries and go to extremes when experimenting with new techniques, even if we don’t initially feel it’s necessary for our own work.
