NM: Week 7 – Sorelle Amore

Who is the practitioner (what is their name?) and when were they practicing?

Sorelle Amore is a freelance photographer, mostly known for creating the Advanced Selfie. Sorelle is originally from Sydney, Australia but for a number of years has been travelling and making a living through her content creation. Sorelle has over 444 thousand followers on Instagram which is her primary platform. She also has a blog and creates Youtube videos, making a lot of “how to” videos to show her followers exactly how to create photographs just like hers. I have been following Sorelle Amore for many years and have a huge appreciation for her work and I am continuously in awe of how she manages to be so creative whilst still making an income and truly living the dream of travelling and doing what she loves.

 

With the photo or video, you are examining when was it produced (date)?

This photograph was uploaded to Instagram on March 10th 2019, I am unable to find out exactly when it was captured as she does not provide such information.

How was the photo authored and published?

The camera Sorelle uses is the Sony a7s2 with a 24-105mm Sigma Canon Lens with a Metabones adapter. The reason she uses this equipment is because it allows her to capture both photographs and videos in a high quality format that is clean and crisp. In a couple of her Youtube videos she breaks down what equipment she uses and why. In terms of editing Sorelle uses the Adobe suite, using Photoshop and Lightroom to edit her photos and using Premiere to edit her videos. Sorelle also has presets she has custom built, readily available to purchase through her website.

How was the photo distributed?

The photo was distributed solely through Instagram’s platform, for some reason it is not shown on her website along with various other photographs she has shared to Instagram.
