This weeks’ tutorial we dived into the XR music video production. As a music video, the background music itself is the most vital element in the video. To be specific, the footages we take should be matched to the music in terms of rhythm or beat. During the shooting process, we were inspired by one of the music videos by White Stripes which used teleportation in the video, and it gives the audience a sense of matching to the beat.
For teleporting people in the video, basically, just trimmed the footage and make the character popping up on the screen. It looks simple, but it provides a very impressive visual experience, especially with music that has strong drumbeats.
When I watched the video, I found that it was to quick for me to explore the environment betweeen segments, and it made me a bit sick due to the fast pace teleportations. That is something I need to work on in terms of providing better experience.
Overall, it was something that I have never ever experienced before, and it embodied my inspiration a lot.
