Reading Michael Rabiger and Robert Mckeee’s article, i realised that one of the crucial aspects of a movie is the ending. A good movie creates a sense of relief for the audience. Some filmmakers challange this idea and still manage to make great movies, but for the most part, the ending sets the comment for the movie. We’ve always have our own alternate version of ending for movies that we watch, if the ending does not satisfy our needs. “Why did he die?”, “why didn’t she say goodbye first?”, if he didn’t steal that ring all of this wouldn’t have happened in the first place! Closure is an important part of our mind, and that is why Hollywood has been playing with us with cliffhanger movies. They played with our sense of closure, putting the candy right on the tip of our tongue, while we are strapped on a chair, and suddenly pulling the candy back and placing it on the table across the room. That is annoying, but i kept falling for the same hole.
