IM Sketch Video Reflection - Week 5

IM Sketch Video Reflection – Week 5

I’m a bit late on reflecting on the final week of Sketch videos as we approach Week 7. Week 5 constraints were:

Film someone, not a family member, in a way you think that describes them without showing their face.

Ok so I misread this constraint, probably because I read over things too quickly. Anyway, my video, Friend Sleeves, is a group of shots of various friends’ sleeves of their shirts. It’s one of more bizarre videos, but I did just watch The Grand Budapest Hotel and that kind of quirkiness was still running through me.

From the point of view of an animal

This one was fun and kinda hard to do, but I did it on my first try. Cat Life follows a cat as she chases a laser around my room. Unfortunately I don’t own a cat, but I have played with a laser around a cat before and they go nuts. I had to film with one hand and laser with the other, and I think I needed two people for that one.

Air, Sky, Water or Earth from the POV of a plant.

In Flower Sunrise, the flower watches the sun as it rises from the horizon to the sky. I like the idea of flowers always staring at the sun to absorb the light. They wake up to it, and they are entranced by it. It was a good sunrise when I woke up one morning, which spawned the idea to do this one. And I do realise that there is no sign of plantation in the video, but I like to think it was a lonely potplant flower.
