The flavours of the world creep into my nostrils as I exit Melbourne Central. The alley accompanied with treats from many different cultures and cuisines all begging for you to try what the have to offer. Herds of people walking both up and down, as if they were beads on a chain being pulled simultaneously against each other. The footsteps and chatter of people suddenly are replaced with loud chanting and the sound of tambourines mixed with drums. It plays at a beat that fills my whole body with rhythm. Before I know it I start bouncing my head and tapping my feet with the others who are witnessing this spectacle with me. Some people walk passed and don’t bat an eye, however I decide to stand back and take on the full experience of this performance in its fresh and unaltered form.
