Making Media Studies

David Gauntlett once said “‘Making media studies’ is therefore about making media as both a subject, and a method; and is about renewing what ‘media studies’ means.”. Once i read what Gauntlett said, I instantly agreed and thought about how media was taught to me and how i understood it. Creating media through both pre and post production and then being taught what to do whilst you’re completing each section is defiantly the way to go. In Year 12, i found that the “doing” was the more successful learning. As Gauntlett is saying, this “doing” function is the ‘method’ of making media. And the subject is the ‘building blocks’ that you fill the areas that you don’t know or understand.
