Screen Lab Blog Post #7

Week 7.

Week 7 was the return to classes after our mid semester break. We began investigating about emerging VR and AR technologies as a method of immersion art.

VR which is “an interactive experience within a simulated, computer generated environment”, has grown increasingly popular through upgrades of head sets devices. VR has been incorporated into every day life by introducing the world to extensive video games and also walk throughs. Interestingly, it has been used for therapy methodologies which are currently being researched through animals like cows. Additionally, we learnt the ways in which AR has incorporated itself into our every day lives through applications and also a selection of galleries for visual tours.

Week 7 also showcased Assignment 2 contributions which are always very enjoyable to watch. I love seeing different techniques my peers take to address the specific prompts.

We also decided on our Assignment 4. Myself, Tully, Julia and Bailey are working collaboratively to film a video that addresses the different uses of colour in film and television.
