In week four, we focused on developments within the media industry regarding video effect technologies. These technologies allow enhancements in production. One example we looked at included the use of LED panels in the Mandelorian to portray a more life like environment compared to green screening. I found this extremely interesting as I had never heard of the technologies they use in large scale sets. These methods of production create such a different atmosphere as actors can visually see what they are acting in front of.
Additionally, we dabbled in Premiere Pro and learnt how to ‘Ultra Key’. This process ended up being relatively easy to pick up and also fun to do. It was a simple introduction into the use of VFX for future assignments.
We also got to watch a screening of everyones Assignment 1 Sound-O-Matic short films, which I really enjoyed.
