Today’s reading was a David Gauntlett, promoting his new book and evaluating it’s key points.
I do like the perspective that media studies should be improved in a way that it’s less documenting and reevaluating what’s already been learned, and continue to learn alongside media. Learning alongside media can prevent “looking backwards”, as it is a rapidly evolving thing. He brought in the idea that it’s not all about creativity, but media studies can be refreshed not only by studying alongside it, but creating new ways to gain perspectives on it. Media being considered as a place of conversation is a bit weird to me but it does make sense. It is a place where conversation, exchange and transformation begins and evolves through time. Though it may not work on everyone, it does lead to a different way of thinking.
