I am a composer/multi-instrumentalist currently based in Melbourne. I have previously composed music for a handful of live theatrical productions in the UK, and I am now making the move into film so I am looking for a number of short student films to score in order to build up my showreel.
My influences include Alexandre Desplat, Alberto Iglesias, Mica Levi, Brian Eno, Jonny Greenwood, Yann Tiersen, Olafur Arnaulds, Johan Johanssen, Nils Frahm, Max Richter, Lisa Gerrard, Erik Satie and Bernard Herrmann, as well as a galaxy of diverse of bands, musicians and artists.
Some samples of my work, both old and new, can be heard in the links below. I can tackle most genres, but broadly my work falls into the following categories:
- Solo Piano: Mournful, melancholic, foreboding solo piano pieces – often with strings or other accompaniments – and inspired by European cinema: https://soundcloud.com/
hueymcevoy/sets/black - World/European Folk: Exploring, experimenting and expanding on traditional sounds and instrumentation: https://soundcloud.com/
hueymcevoy/sets/green - Orchestral: Epic yet intimate and moody orchestral and choral pieces, with forays into discordance and atonality: https://soundcloud.com/
hueymcevoy/sets/blue - Americana: Pieces inspired by Americana and alt-country, with a strong focus on electric, acoustic and pedal steel guitars: https://soundcloud.com/
hueymcevoy/sets/gold - Electronic/Ambient: Sweeping, wistful, cinematic soundscapes, perfect for underscores: https://soundcloud.com/
