Artist Feedback

Both artist and manager have asked for input throughout the process which is great for us because we are treating this experience as though we were working for a client. Considering this song has just been released on Triple J, the next step for the artist is to release a music video and we would love for this clip so we welcome the critique and feedback. We have shown the artist two edits as well as some of the footage from the 1st shoot edited together in a rough sequence. I am always weary of showing an artist raw footage because at the end of the day you cut it so much that it can often look so different from the raw takes. But she was happy to wait for the edit and didn’t insist on watching raw takes.

I think we were all keen to arrange another shoot date to get some looser less contrived looking material that we could use to add movement and energy to a fairly energetic rocky pop song. Also a lot of our footage against the white wall didn’t look as professional or as clean as the other footage. Although I liked the low budget look of the white background and her playing guitar, nothing could sell me on a half pulled, dirty off-white curtain as a backdrop.
