Oh No!! A terrible night in the edit suits. Today I shot some new footage and recorded some sound with my lovely subject Penelope and headed straight to the edit suits after to organise and start cutting my material. I had problems straight away with pulling up premiere on the right screen, importing my files; it wasn’t letting me open old files that I had imported on another computer. I’m not on top of this technical stuff quite yet so it was really stressful getting set up. I then moved to another computer and had to do it all over again. When I finally got editing, I exported what I had done and then Premiere shut down unexpectedly which it had done three times on the other computer and I lost my work! My export hadn’t worked properly and I couldn’t upload it online. Also it’s freezing in the suits! And 30 degrees outside so I didn’t have a jacket and I think I caught a cold. My throat is really sore! Grrrrrrrr.
We have class and feedback session tomorrow so I’m looking forward to getting some help and some guidance. The shoot went well today I organised a church hall for Penelope to play piano in rather than what we had been doing so far on an electrical piano. I also played with lamps and other lighting to enhance the natural light coming through the church windows. I felt like when I was editing the first few lots of Penelope’s material, that I would like to use more with her but I would like a real piano. It was nice getting the big venue with better acoustics and more space. I feel like I have hit a bit of a wall with my work for some reason. I’m not really sure where to take my audio investigations. I’ll look forward to chatting to Paul tomorrow and get a fresh take for the last week!!
