Today’s feedback was to explore and experiment with text on screen. This is my investigation 1 (3.1) clip redrafted to include text of the Yeats Poem I played with, ‘Prayer for my Daughter’. I really like playing with text on scene, I feel like it adds a whole different element to the clip. It makes it more cohesive in a way and allows my to have a visual link to whatever the audio is doing. Also the words of this particular poem look really beautiful written in this font positioned this way on the screen. I don’t need to have a lot of text, each word is very meaningful. It also ties together my abstract footage straight away and allows that footage to take it’s place within the story of the poem. It has been fun also to play with the titles and match them to the music and beat. The titles look really funny and clumsy when they are not in time or in line with the music. It has been good to weave this together and know when to cut and when to fade something. I like the sharp cut to things and won’t fade if I can help it. I would rather have something striking and straight to the point rather than a slow sentimental fade in and out.
