Whole Track 1 – Penelope Singing Amazing Grace
The singing was something Penelope said she could contribute after we recorded one of her memories of growing up.I instantly thought wow, this will give a completely different dimension to the project and I’ll have so much more material to work with. The problem is that the tone of the singing is quite strong and doesn’t actually match the aesthetic quality I’m going for. It also probably doesn’t best represent, for me at this stage, the parts about Penelope that I want to express. The singing expresses a louder more intense part of her that isn’t afraid to speak up or speak out. I’d like to look at the more internal and introverted aspect of Penelope that makes her music even more special to listen to and understand.
Whole Track 2 – Penelope Memory Account
I’m really looking forward to cutting this up in post and using it to get confident and comfortable using and layering sound in edit. There are moments of this that I could overlay and play with. It might not necessarily be the whole track but there are moments and motifs that I can play with here.
