After watching The Beat I Was Born Without I was reminded of a youtube video I saw on Cymatics, a technique in which sound vibrations are made physical.
These two videos made me think about how a sense is perceived on many levels. For example in The Beat I was Born Without, Lenny discusses how she can feel the vibrations of music. In Nigel Stanford’s Cymatics, he exemplifies how music can be witnessed as well as heard. Both of these videos portray the idea that senses are not as simplistic, separated and departmentalised as we may have thought.
