After being told just how good the show was by numerous friends, I have decided to finally watch Game of Thrones. While I am only up to the fourth episode of season one, I am starting to see the appeal. The show is extremely well done. Everything seems exactly what it would be like in that time period and location. I can’t even imagine the work the makeup and costuming department would have to do for the show. All the costumes are so detailed which numerous different layers and parts. The other part of the show which is very impressive are sets and locations. The amount of detail that goes into designing the sets and locations makes everything look more authentic.

While the show can be at times violent, I still find myself wanted to continue watching to find out what happens. I find myself loving some characters and hating others. John Snow and the Stark family are my favourites, as well as Tyrion Lannister who despite being immoral and questionable I find myself liking him.

One thing I have been told about the show is that the righters aren’t afraid to shock viewers and kill off characters which audiences would not have thought would die. This is why I think the show has been so successful. But I guess I will find out as I watch more.
