Korsakow…?

Korsakow….?

I must admit I have never heard of Korsakow. Considering the majority of our assessment this semester is related to this program I thought I would find out a little more information.

The Korsakow System was invented in 2000 by Berlin-based media artist, Florian Thalhofer. It is an easy to use computer program that allows the user to create database films known as Korsakow-Films or K-Films. The software can be used to produce experiential, documentary and fictional narrative works that are interactive.

I found the Korsakow Facebook group page filled with useful hints.

Constraint Task 1: Round

I liked this because of the number of different size circles that were captured in the shot.

Constraint Task 1: Round

I found this bowl of yummy goodness on my desk at work! I really liked the colours and the brightness of the lollies in contrast to the plain white bowl. This clip was filmed with my i-phone and unfortunately was a little shaky.

Things to do…

Integrated media…mmm while I am still a little unsure of what this semester holds and feeling a little overwhelmed, I am also looking forward to it!

I am usually someone who likes structure and clear guidelines. I make lists….all the time! To do lists, wish lists, shopping lists. I never refer back to these lists but I can’t describe the sense of calmness that floods over me once I have completed my list.

Straight away this course has challenged my initial belief that a narrative must be linear – a clear beginning, a middle and an. However as Adrian mentioned in the lecture by broadening these parameters it becomes apparent that a non-linear narrative allows for the audience to move independently throughout a piece, often creating new meanings from discovering connections that otherwise would have gone unnoticed.

I am looking forward to learning more about interactive media and am hoping to further extend on the techniques, ideas and concepts learned in Networked Media while continuing to explore new territory.
